Customizing and Redesigning Notification Badges on iOS and its impact on task engagement.
Hey what is up folks!!
It is that time of the year where I just pretend to write a blog and never care about it for the rest of the time.
Not this time guys. This time it ain’t just about writing blogs, its about bringing some real changes to my life as well as yours. Oh yeah, for a start lets talk about a recent event that totally surprised me physically. Oh no no no…wait.. I had met with a ‘not that severe’ kind of an accident leading to two surgeries. Well it’s been over a month and I’m recovering post surgery.
People always say, “Follow your dreams and eliminate all the negativity”. While this surely brings positive vibes, it is not the reality. Well cheer up and think about marching towards your goal without any hindrance? What fun is that?
We the millennials have just started experiencing what life is all about. We will continue to have obstacles and at some point you may want to back-off. Now I ain’t here to give a pep talk. You feel that its risky for you to take a step forward, you’re always welcome to take a step back. Now don’t get me wrong. At times it is better to back-off, even-though events would have turned positive and lit af.
Coming back to my story, I was all ready for the new year to begin and just when I had felt really happy about myself, things took a U-turn and here I’m writing a blog about the same. I was not getting hold of myself and bad dreams kept coming on and off. Well it’s not that because I had a surgery and my life started sucking. It is in-fact the plans that totally let me down. I had planned the next 6 months systematically and all I wanted was for it to work out. First 2 months turned out pretty well 😂.
Leaving the jokes aside, “Don’t Follow the Toilet Paper”. Don’t ask yourself about the next plan/next vacation/next date/next trip etc. Let it just happen. Don’t allow your plans and dreams to master you. Most importantly don’t make a mess of yourself by preparing a flow-chart and listing down career options. Well, you will be bound to seek opportunities where there is progress but don’t rush in. I’m not saying that things will happen out of the blue, you will have some references that had worked perfectly.
Following rules are not the same as that of what the title describes. Rules are integral part of our life and it is the fundamental that differentiates an individual. The ‘Toiletpaper’ referred here is in context to theplans/dreams whose composite nature is unknown until the beginning of its chapter. What do you do when a plan fails? Take the example of the most famous Goa trip our friends always let down. In most cases this plan fails due to a situation that does not work out for an individual or a group, to specify in a more generic term. You STFU and continue. Why not do it to every plan that seems to bother you. I’m just a mediator saying shitty things? Try it for yourself and then thank me.
Every second is a situation and every situation has a plan. Now do you want to keep planning the rest of your life or get the fuck out there and show some skills you’ve got? People appreciate those who are exposed out in the open, not for their bravery but for their negligence towards ‘toilet papers’. It is with great responsibility that an individual who seems to have worked out to not follow the toilet paper will have his/her own policy written as he/she progress in their life. Believe me guys its working perfectly fine for me and I’m just telling you all to give it a shot. I’m no way here to persuade anyone, but wanted to share some of these thoughts with you as a friend.
It so seems right for me to end the blog here. Before that I just wanted to mention: it is my first time swearing in a blog and also would like to leave a link: Intelligent people are more likely to swear, a study has found.“It’s sort of my justification to it”.
‘Keep your dreams alive. Understand how to believe it. Remember all things are possible for believers not methodical thinkers.’

(Blogger and Chess Enthusiast)
First let me wish you all a happy new year. It’s now 2017 and we are all having a list of New Year resolutions and many goals and dreams which we would like to achieve by the end of this year.
A recent article that interested me was about the about the leap second. It had explained about how Google was planning to alter its Network Time Protocol (NTP) so as to include the extra second on December 31st and how the leap second could just disrupt the functioning of the internet had it not been considered. To say it in simple terms, the leap second was just an extra second added to the clock on December 31st so as to compensate for the revolution of the earth.
The thing that interested me was not the leap second or the Network time protocol or even the effect of the leap second on the internet. It was only about the importance of each second in our life. This made me realize how many precious hours I have wasted till now aimlessly scrolling news-feeds! When a second is just given that much importance in the current scenario, just think about how much your time is valuable.
This explains my new formed view that I wish to convey — “time is a resource”.
It’s a resource used properly by the successful and spent recklessly by those who fail in their endeavors. The most valuable gift given by god is definitely “time”. Once wasted, time can never be earned back. It may be duly called as the most valuable thing in the world. Spend it wisely and it would elevate you to great heights else you perish without achieving anything.
There is a term in economics known as opportunity cost, knowledge of which would help to never waste your time for trivial matters in life. Opportunity cost effectively quantizes the value of your time.
Suppose you are planning to start a restaurant after quitting your job, then the revenue you earn from the restaurant must be greater than the money you could have earned in your job so as to be profitable in this venture. Thus opportunity cost is the money you could have earned working in the time you had spent for something. Hence your time could be compared approximately with money. A person earning Rs.25000 a month would have wasted 100Rs. if he had spent an hour unproductively. This may explain you why I would like to refer time as a resource.
An organization working on a project hires people primarily not for the skills but for their time. So the next time you land a job in your dream company or recruit members for your startup remember that you are hiring them for their time and not their skills. So literally we are paid just for our precious time we give for them, be it in an organization or a business.
Such being the importance of time, and where people are paid for their time, we are remorselessly wasting it in social networking and internet just because we are left with abundance of it.
God doesn’t give you money to survive in this earth, he just gives you time to live. He doesn’t like to pay you in dollars or Euros; he just pays you in seconds, minutes, hours, days, months and years. Hence that’s why we have been referring the usage of time as spending.
For those who are poor in managing time let me tell you a simple way to boss over it at your hand. It’s to micromanage time by splitting your it into small chunks and planning what you are going to do in that span. Suppose you have a plan or a task that should be completed in a month, split it into thirty small tasks that should be completed in a day. This makes it easy to monitor the progress and hence be in control over the time in hand. When you have practiced micromanagement of time you would be in a position to decide clearly what you should do in your allocated space. Learning to Micromanage time may be the best thing you could learn that would help you achieve your targets and finish your tasks within stipulated attitude of time.
The similarity between successful people of all fields is that they value triumph and time. You cannot see them wasting both these because they are here only because they have used it properly to become the master in their respective fields. I may quote the words of Steve Jobs which describes how much he valued time. It goes as “My favorite things in life don’t cost any money. It’s really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time”. A person who respects time this much is sure to succeed and Steve Jobs is just an example to it.
Finally, those who have till now wasted many hours in life(including me), let’s just assure ourselves that we would manage our time in a better way that helps us attain our targets and am signing off with another quote from Jobs-Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living Someone Else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

(a well wisher of Rho-ohmTech Community):
Make sure you share this article with your friends and to those who are struggling to get hold of their TIME!!
A link to TIME as another Dimension is down here!!
Well..This is my 5th article on this site/blog..
I’d like to draw the attention of all the tech geeks out there!!
Coz this is for those who prefer gadgets over their girlfriends.I certainly want to make a bulletin stating that you guys are affected by a condition called gizmo fever!!
Few are at level-1 and few are at the very extreme.I include myself in the extreme category for the same reason that i wake my phone’s screen every minute even if a message doesn’t drop on whatsapp!! BBM had me going crazy during the early days of 2011-12,and then we all shifted to whatsapp..Some perhaps used it as soon as Jan Koum released it to Android..
Facebook,Instagram,Whatsapp,Skype and other apps drived us nuts and we still are the same after 6yrs of the release of each and every app, some probably more than that.Have you ever woken up on a Sunday morning without snoozing your alarm on your smartphone?Exactly from that point on-wards we are attracted like opposite poles to our mini-computers that give us nothing but digital strain, tension and to an extent sleeplessness.Just for promotion:digital strain watch this and you understand why its is so important to protect your eyes!!
To get cured from this condition of gizmo fever we need to do what is called the Digital Detoxing(DD).
This is very important in terms of what the whole scheme offers, every tech geek lurking around with his/her smartphone and having inconclusive results about his future biology!! I know this statement sounds weird..
I’ll elucidate this with a fact that you are producing 0-results as far as your health is concerned. What affects your health is a variety question that can be answered in many perspective ways, but sticking to my content, radiations and the blue light emitted from your quad HD,OLED display and any LCD screen for that matter will have adverse effects on your system and its functionality..
Digital Detoxing is a method that works efficiently to avoid excess involvement of yourself with smartphones, laptops and even T.V for carving your sculpture to utmost precision.
You people need to have the consistency while doing this workout session every day!
1.Make sure you have your smartphone locked at a safe place and wait for an hour without waking it up.
2.If you are unsuccessful in completing the first task, switch off your Wi-Fi and repeat step1.
3.If this too fails switch off your mobile for half an hour and repeat step1 again.
4.Continue doing this task thrice everyday and slowly increase the time rate at which your smartphone needs to be untouched..
I’m really stressing on this issue coz if you don’t have time to do this, you’ll not have time to look after your health as well.
I’m following this for a week and I’ve myself felt the positive results of Digital Detoxing!!
Wanna have a look at my smartphone that i keep using till now?Link:My Nokia
I made sure that i put up this small piece of info that i gained from a fundamental approach towards total elimination of smartphones!
Tqs a lot for reading this very long blog of mine and I’m sure that you would follow these steps at least for a span of 1-year ..
Are you one of them who really want to get a lot of popularity?
How do you want to portray yourself?
How can you get those millions of fan-followers?
Ahhh!! This keeps popping every now and then and this one such visual crushes all other significant thoughts, which were to be given their first preference. It is those time of solitude when you get these freakin ideas of becoming famous and taking selfies with random people!!
But giving it a 2 or 3 minute thought and having deep introspected for a day or two, you gain that faint happiness that there are probabilities of you trending in your society!!
You know something? I don’t like my blog without some technology quotes! So in that case take a small comparison- What was a Virtual Reality (VR) which came into existence was over-compensated with Augmented Reality(AR)!! Does it make sense? What was just a mere imagination a decade ago, came into strong relation with the humans, after the launch of Google Cardboard, Samsung VR , Oculus that were soon over-powered with Microsoft’s holo lens and recently launched Lenovo AR Headset..
You may probably click the >< button, not willing to read my next couple of statements..
But wait a minute!! There are real-time possibilities for you to trend. Many of them already are and many will be in the near future.
I am not going to tell you the ways of trending in this BLOG, rather would post a serious note about the path in which people should trend.
Choose your LOVE and love your CHOICE, wouldn’t that be the simplest idea for one to follow and accomplish their goals? Similar to maximum disadvantage in case of human cloning (Human cloning is the creation of a genetically identical copy of a human. The term is generally used to refer to artificial human cloning, which is the reproduction of human cells and tissue)- “of course taken from WIKIPEDIA”, there are high risks of one trending in the wrong direction..
You may and you should wonder why I’ve compared human cloning to that of trending in the wrong direction. The very fact that when one starts trending in the wrong side there are many replica of that person produced each and every second. Moreover with the kind of technological advancements, that person would be breathing his last stages of life in terms of Hacking? Ahh Even I’m confused now!. He would have accepted the brighter side, but sometimes you have that curiosity to perform illegal acts that in the long run would eventually lead you to prison-(the ultimate destination for every offender).
Even though that person would be trending , it would always be temporary and he/she will take all curse of the public. What if all these doesn’t happen and you lead a normal life without any popularity? That sounds good but only to some people!
Heyy man I’m sorry to bore you, but yeah the true fact is 75% would like to trend in some good way. This may be temporary or permanent but the kind of response you get would be amazing, especially if you crack a JEE exam and come in top 3 rankings.
This kind of gaining popularity would only last a week or two but you will cherish those moments..
Trending is important but the choice lies with us..
Few quotes about choices would fill up my blog:
“We are entering an era of unprecedented choice. And thats a good thing.”, Chris Anderson
“We are unknowingly predictable in our choices. It can be seen by the way we decorate our houses. We all feel we make unique and distinct choices, yet we all stand by cultural standard.” Aww by me!!
You have completed reading my 610 words!!
Trend well, Sleep well!
This blog was not supposed to end like this!!
What do I mean by this title? Well, you need to read through the whole blog for that!!
I start with all data I’ve got.
Silver is a chemical element with symbol Ag—- Gold is a chemical element with symbol Au.
Atomic number (Ag)=47—-Atomic number(Au)=79
Silver being more abundant than gold is still less valued to be a precious metal…
It is available in pure form(native silver) and as an alloy with gold..The above mentioned info are all scientific.
Therefore Silver mixes with Gold chemically! Continue reading!!
But what does one really need to understand about Silver and Gold. I mean that they should have relative comparisons to real life!!Since both are valuables one can’t compare them with Rich and Poor…
We need to compare Silver and Gold to a much simpler theme where people can think upon it as a very basic reference..
So here I compare it with Quantity and Quality!!To be more precise:
Quantity=Silver & Quality=Gold.
Yes!! you read it right..
Finding quality tech, food, infrastructure, education and even people are hard nowadays. It’s like buying gold even if we find one! Isn’t it?
India had preserved a large amount of it’s ‘quality’ in the 20th century(of course after our independence). Now we can see the manifold increase in things(quantity) which are not upto their mark(quality)!!
Silver(quantity) being abundant in nature does not provide the required attraction as provided by Gold(quality) due to which it is excluded from wearable jewellery!
It is often said that, “It is better to have a small group of well wishers rather than having a large group of cheap followers”. People in India are only looking to buy a Silver grade item that offers them variety of options without any quality. What we really need to look upon is both ‘Silver & Gold’. This is very rare since you can find them only as an alloy in chemical form that too only at selected places in India. These need to be visualized as Quality and Quantity whose mixture would demand a very high cost!
By spreading that kind of a cultivation to the rest of India , we would me unimaginable at that point of time..
So yes!! Quantity does mix with Quality(as Silver mixes with Gold) but we have a very few existence of that state of matter whose multiplication would produce the best result of our lifetime. This proves that we have quality tech, food, infrastructure and education in small amount.
We even have people who are called “He is one gem of a person” whose actions strongly favour the development of our country. To identify those few among the throng would be a difficult task at first but by finding them it will give us a chance to promote the hybrid cultivation that we are dreaming of!!
To become a successful individual or country as a whole, you need to have Silver and Gold mixed in equal amount. As an individual you gain fame and happiness through your quality and offer variety of things to the needy through your quantity. It may be whatever offerings you do but the hybrid state will make sure that you stay in the game forever..
Great leaders mention that ‘God prefers quality over quantity’, that is because they have achieved many things ordinary people can’t, which is why we(the quantity guys) call them great(the quality guys)!! They lack the idea of hybrid or mixture due to their decade long solitude. Nowadays people are not judged by the quality of the company he keeps, but it is common to judge sociability of a person with the number of contacts he has on social networking sites.
Me as a blogger, quality of posts is important but I also need to remain in the memory of the readers which is why I need to maintain the quantity of posts as well!!
All these add up to the very existence of (Quantity+Quality) and eventually you readers have completed reading my 691 words.
So thank you guys for reading this blog and I would appreciate if you contribute some valuable things to our Great Nation!!
